Baswell! (French version of bummer – I guess!)

I’m in pain. I've hurt my back a week ago. I was barely able to move myself. Luckily, my mother in law came over to help me with the kids while I was lying in bed with ice to help reduce the swelling :(

I’ve spent so much time in bed that I had plenty of time to work on my felt pin for the store. I even made a new version of Victor the cat. I really like this new version witch have a more sneaky attitude than the old one !

Lazy Blogger!

Ok, it was almost a New Year resolution that I made to myself to post on this blog at least every two days. I think the bar was set a little high for the busy bee I tend to be! I’ve spent the last week away in Rimouski (~ 6 hours from my home!) playing outside, buying a new bike and spending time with my family.

Now that I’m back home, my partner is gone in vacation in Brazil (LUCKY HER!!!!!!) and just before she left she sold half of our inventory to some of her friend from Toronto! WOW! Now I have to get back to my needle and felt ;-) But I also had to work on the B-day Flyer for my oldest daughter. I’m quite please the way it turned out!

Enough bla bla for today, its sooooooooooo nice outside, I’m going to sew un my garden! Ciao!

Contest - Win this watermelon charm :)

Ok, the things with this project is that we have so many ideas that we cannot market each one of them! So, a couple of weeks ago, I bought FIMO clay and made this cute watermelon charm.

This cutie could be yours for FREE! Yep, I've decide to make a small contest for our shop launch. Just make a purchase in our ETSY shop until June 1st, 2008 and I will randomly draw a lucky winner and send it to this person.

Lychee's first post

So after watching tonight's episode of American Idol (yes, I am one of those... Go Davids!) and moving between my atelier and the living room, catching glimpses of the horrible-horrible (yes, it needs to be stated twice) Hell's Kitchen, I realized "hey, we have a blog and I haven't even touched it!" Shame on me...

Oh but what a treat it was to login and see two new posts from my partner in crime, Caro! You can always count on her to get things moving and that applies to just about anything! Just take this blog, for example. I mean you'd never find "blogging" on her to-do list, because let's face it, blogs are useless! But here she is, taking her precious time to write, to share the fun details of this newly undertaken but already favourite project of ours - the freshly launched Carotte & Lychee shop on Etsy. This must be one of the coolest collaborative work I've ever had the chance to be part of and I am so excited and happy it's actually happening! A huge reason why this project has been progressing smoothly and accordingly is that I am a spoiled brat who is lucky enough to be working with a friend who's got a head on her shoulders and well, is kickass. In her Sunday post, Caro wrote:
Vero (aka Lychee) is sooooooooo talented that she inspires me to use my creativity a little bit more. I’ve started drawing again and for that I’m very thankful that I’ve met her!
I apologize now for being a copy cat, but I will allow myself to be one for this exceptional occasion, it being simply and totally true:

Caro is fracking talented as well (up there is her original drawing of our logo!) and she inspires me to use my creativity at little more (oh and she has the weirdest / funnest / craziest ideas!). I too, have started drawing again and for that, I am sincerely thankful to have met her. I told her this before and I am delighted to know that it's mutual :) This is where I start crying, right?

Cuties!

Yesterday, we made a very funny shooting for our store. For our profile they recommend using a picture of us. Vero once made me realize that a LOT of Asian makes either a peace sign or a “cutie” sign (AKA pointing your cheeks with your finger while smiling) on their pictures. We don’t understand quite why they often do that. But we’ve made a pledge to also make “cuties” sign on all important pictures we are taking for the last few months!
